Production Components in Political Advertising

In order to gain support and attention, you need more than some words on a screen. You need visuals and sound. Any film student knows that in order to make a movie big and popular, the graphics and displays have to grasp the eyes of their audience. Level one is visual imaging. The human mind is drawn by what they can see. They see before they hear. Campaign teams understand that a candidate's image is important. They have to be dressed a certain way in order for others to take them seriously. Their look is what is going to sell the campaign. But not only that, their image with others in different areas of life. They need promotional images to put in campaign posts and ads. Showing casing essentially what type of person they are. One’s image is their brand. To sell to the public they have to look the part. Level two is visual text. Now it can not be plain white letters in roman twelve font. You will not gain any attraction to the campaign. You need big large letters in all caps with attractive colors. The background visual image must correlate with the visual wording. Regardless of the message, once again, the human mind is attracted to what they see. They see the words before the spoken word. Level three is music and sound. Now these go hand in hand. Both are essential in sealing the campaign’s mood or vibe. The music produces a sound that will resonate with the general public. Sometimes campaigns use music from well known celebrities (with their permission of course). Their music is uplifting and inspiring. The sound is to invoke change or bring importance to the message. Seeing and hearing brings individuals to support. Each of these levels make campaign fun because you can experiment with different imaging and sound to invoke emoticons. It is also a great tactic in drawing attention to important issues that the candidates are passionate about. This is all a part of branding and selling a candidate. Like a product you make sure the packaging is neat and clean with interesting designs. (those who are entrepreneurs know what i'm talking about). The more attractive the product looks, the more attention it receives. The same with campaigning and the candidates. The more you polish them up, the more people can relate in the sense of the visuals and sound presented.
